Washer Repair
Top-load and agitator washers that will not drain, spin, fill or stop leaking. We repair them in your garage or laundry room.
See the repairFront-load washers save water and energy, but their sealed doors, drain filters and heavy drums bring their own problems. We repair the parts that wear out on these machines.

$215 to $395 typical for door boot seal
Front-load washer repair usually involves the door boot seal, the door lock, the drain pump and its coin trap, the spider arm and drum bearings, or the motor control. If the door is locked with water inside, turn the washer off and wait for it to release. Call us, and we test the machine and price the repair first.
We repair Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, KitchenAid, Bosch, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador and the other names found in Valley kitchens and laundry rooms.
A front-load washer tumbles clothes through a small amount of water, then spins much faster than most top-loaders. A rubber door boot seals the drum, and an electric door lock keeps it closed while water or spin is active. That combination is efficient but unforgiving.
Most front-load trouble comes from three places. The boot holds moisture and grime, the drain pump filter catches coins and hair ties, and the drum bearings carry heavy spin loads for years. When a bearing seal finally leaks, water reaches the bearing and the noise starts.
We service front-load machines from LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag, Electrolux, Bosch, Miele and GE. Each brand has its own error codes, and we read them before opening a single panel. The code history often shows a pattern that one bad cycle would hide.

We use each brand's service mode to read stored codes and run components one at a time. That lets us confirm the failed part before we pull the front panel or the back of the tub.

Boot, lock and pump jobs are routine. Bearing and spider repairs cost more because the tub has to come out and be rebuilt.
| Repair | Typical range | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Door boot seal | $215 to $395 | Boot style and clamp type |
| Door lock assembly | $175 to $325 | Brand and wiring access |
| Drain pump and filter service | $185 to $355 | Pump design and debris |
| Shock absorber pair | $195 to $345 | Number of shocks and model |
| Drum bearings or spider arm | $425 to $785 | Tub design and parts on hand |
Your real price depends on the part and the diagnosis, and we give that price before any panel comes off.
Every visit follows the same order, so you always know what comes next and what it costs.
Read us the error code and model from the door frame label. The dispatcher confirms an arrival window while you are on the line.
We drain trapped water through the filter access and release the door if it is locked.
We run the pump, lock, valves and motor in the diagnostic mode.
You get the cause and the repair price before we order or install a part.
We run a full wash and top-speed spin to confirm the repair holds.

Valley water is hard, and hard water makes detergent work less well. Many people respond by adding more soap, which leaves residue in the boot and outer tub. That film feeds the mildew behind the classic front-load smell.
Front-loaders tucked into hallway closets in Sherman Oaks, Encino and Woodland Hills homes rarely get airflow between loads. A shut door holds damp air in the drum for days. Use HE detergent at the measured dose, leave the door open after each load, and run a hot cleaning cycle monthly. If the boot is already stained deep in the folds, a new boot is the real fix.
Door boots, locks, pumps and shocks are worth replacing on most front-load washers. These are wear parts with reasonable prices, and the machine often has years left. A boot replacement can also make an older washer smell new again.
Bearings and spider arms are the expensive repairs. On many models the bearings are sealed into a welded tub, so the whole tub must be replaced. We check how your model is built and give you an honest comparison with a new washer.
Safe checks only. If anything smells hot, sparks or involves gas, stop and call.
Our Sun Valley office sends technicians across the Valley and the cities around it. These are the places we visit most for front-load washer repair.
Mildew grows in the folds of the door boot and on the outer tub where water and detergent residue sit. Using too much detergent and closing the door between loads makes it worse. We clean or replace the boot and check the drain for standing water.
Turn the washer off, unplug it and wait several minutes. If water remains in the drum, the lock stays engaged for safety. Drain the water through the filter access with towels down. Do not pry the front-load washer door, since that breaks the lock and hinge.
It depends on the model. Some front-load washers allow the bearings to be pressed out and replaced, while others use a sealed tub that must be replaced whole. We look up your design and give you the price for both the repair and a replacement.
A torn door boot, a loose boot clamp, or heavy suds from regular detergent can push water out of a front-load washer door. A clogged drain can also overfill the tub. We inspect the boot and clamps and check the drain path.
Most drain errors on LG and Samsung front-load washers mean water did not leave the tub fast enough. A clogged filter, a kinked hose or a failed pump motor are the usual causes. We clean the filter first and test the pump before replacing parts.
Yes. Banging usually means worn shock absorbers, loose counterweights or a cracked spider arm. We check each one in order. Shocks and counterweight bolts are affordable fixes, while a spider repair costs more and we discuss it before starting.
