Oven Repair
Ovens that will not heat, bake unevenly or run hot. We test igniters, elements, sensors and controls on every oven type.
See the repairWhen a gas oven clicks without lighting, a burner flame goes yellow or a gas dryer tumbles cold, we repair the ignition and flame-safety parts on the appliance itself, from igniters to safety valves.

$185 to $345 typical for oven glow-bar igniter
If you smell gas, leave the home first, then call SoCalGas or 911 from outside. For appliances that will not light or hold a flame with no odor, we repair the parts on the appliance: igniters, spark modules, burners, thermocouples, flame sensors and appliance safety valves. Call us any hour with the appliance type and symptom, and we give the price before work begins.
We repair Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, KitchenAid, Bosch, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador and the other names found in Valley kitchens and laundry rooms.
Safe checks only. If anything smells hot, sparks or involves gas, stop and call.
Gas appliances share one idea: the valve on the appliance stays closed until a safety device proves the gas can be lit. In an oven, a glow-bar igniter must draw enough current to open the safety valve. In a dryer, coils open the valve while the igniter glows.
When those parts weaken, the result is an oven that never lights, a burner that clicks without end or a dryer that runs cold. These are appliance faults, and they are the work we do. We do not run, cut or repair gas supply piping in the home; that belongs to SoCalGas or a plumbing contractor.
Our technicians work on the appliance side of the shutoff valve. We test igniters, valves, spark modules and sensors. Flame color gets checked before we leave.

Every visit follows the same order, so you always know what comes next and what it costs.
We ask about gas odor first. If there is any, we tell you to leave and call SoCalGas or 911 before we schedule anything.
On arrival the technician closes the appliance shutoff and unplugs the unit before opening panels.
Igniters, valve coils, spark modules and sensors are tested in the lighting sequence to find the break.
We give the price before starting, replace the part, and leak-check every fitting we disturbed.
We light every burner or run a full cycle, check flame color and confirm the appliance shuts off normally.

All gas appliance work starts at the appliance's own shutoff. We close it and test each part with a meter. Every fitting we touched is leak-checked before the appliance goes back in service.

Most gas appliance repairs fall within a predictable range because the parts are standard. Price climbs with brand and access. It also rises when the unit must be pulled out from the wall.
| Repair | Typical range | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Oven glow-bar igniter | $185 to $345 | Bake or broil and oven brand |
| Oven or range safety valve | $265 to $545 | Valve type and access behind the oven |
| Spark module or electrodes | $165 to $325 | Number of burners and pro-style models |
| Gas dryer valve coils or flame sensor | $155 to $295 | Which part failed and dryer model |
| Grill thermocouple or valve | $175 to $415 | Built-in grill brand and burner count |
Figures reflect typical Los Angeles jobs. What you pay depends on the part and the diagnosis, and we give you that number before starting the repair.
Many 1940s to 1960s ranch homes across the Valley were built for gas, with gas ranges in the kitchen and gas dryer stubs in the garage. A lot of those houses were retrofit after the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Some still have old flexible connectors behind ranges and dryers that have been moved many times.
When we pull a range or dryer out in one of those homes, we look at the connector. If it is cracked, kinked or an old uncoated type, we replace it at the existing shutoff. Pipe in the wall is for SoCalGas or a plumber.
Igniters, coils, sensors and spark modules are wear parts. Replacing one on a sound range, oven or dryer is almost always cheaper than a new appliance. It returns the appliance to normal service.
The math changes when a safety valve and a control board fail together on an older entry-level range. A burner box rusted through changes it too. We show you the parts and the price, and if replacement is smarter, we say so plainly.
Our Sun Valley office sends technicians across the Valley and the cities around it. These are the places we visit most for gas appliance repair.
Leave the home right away and do not use light switches, phones or anything that can spark inside. From outside, call SoCalGas or 911. Do not try to find the leak. Once the utility has made the home safe, call us to repair the appliance itself.
A gas oven igniter can glow orange and still be too weak to open the safety valve. The valve needs a minimum current through the igniter, and as the igniter ages its draw drops. Replacing the igniter fixes most of these calls; we test the valve too.
No. Our gas appliance repair stops at the appliance and its connector at the existing shutoff valve. Running, cutting or repairing supply piping in walls, floors or yards is work for SoCalGas or a plumbing contractor, and we will tell you if that is the issue.
In a gas dryer, that pattern usually means weak valve coils. The igniter glows, the coils open the valve briefly, then they fail as they warm up. We test the coils and the flame sensor and replace the failing part so the burner relights through the cycle.
A steady blue flame is normal. A mostly yellow or sooty gas range flame often means a clogged burner port, a misaligned cap, or a burner that needs its air shutter set. We clean and reset the burner and check that the flame burns blue and even.
Yes. We repair gas grill burners, valves, igniters and thermocouples on built-in outdoor kitchens. We work from the grill's own shutoff or quick-disconnect. If the yard gas line itself needs work, that goes to SoCalGas or a plumber first.
