Gas Appliance Repair
Repair for the gas side of ranges, ovens, dryers and grills: igniters, burners, safety valves, thermocouples and flame sensors.
See the repairOutdoor kitchens in the Valley sit in triple-digit sun, dust and sprinkler spray. We repair built-in grills, outdoor refrigerators, side burners, outdoor ice makers and warming drawers in patio islands.

$165 to $315 typical for grill igniter and electrodes
Outdoor kitchen appliance repair covers built-in grills, side burners, rotisserie motors, outdoor-rated refrigerators, kegerators, outdoor ice makers and warming drawers. Heat, dust and moisture wear these parts faster than indoor ones. Note the brand and what fails, check the GFCI outlet in the island, and call us any hour. We give an arrival window on the call and a price before any repair.
We repair Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, KitchenAid, Bosch, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador and the other names found in Valley kitchens and laundry rooms.
An outdoor kitchen asks indoor technology to live outside. The refrigerator in a stone island has to cool against afternoon sun on the patio, the grill igniter sits in morning dew, and the warming drawer collects leaves and dust. Even outdoor-rated units wear faster than the same parts in a kitchen.
Most outdoor calls come at the start of the season. The grill clicks but will not light after a winter under a cover, the island fridge runs warm the first hot weekend, or the ice maker has scale from months of standing water. Spiders and mud wasps also nest in grill venturi tubes and block the gas flow.
We work on the appliances in the island, not the masonry or the yard gas line. That covers ignition, burners, valves and rotisserie motors on the grill, and condensers, fans, thermostats and water valves on outdoor refrigeration. The stone, tile and yard plumbing stay with the trades that built them.

Built-in outdoor appliances often slide out on rails or lift out of the island cutout. We pull them carefully, protect the counter stone, and repair the parts that weather wears out first. Seized screws are common outside, so we bring penetrating oil and spare hardware.

Outdoor repairs often take longer than indoor ones because of corrosion and island access. Premium grill and outdoor refrigeration brands also carry higher part prices. Expect island units to take longer to remove and reseat than a kitchen appliance.
| Repair | Typical range | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Grill igniter and electrodes | $165 to $315 | Battery or AC ignition and burner count |
| Grill burner replacement | $195 to $445 | Burner material and grill brand |
| Outdoor fridge condenser fan | $215 to $395 | Access in the island and fan type |
| Outdoor ice maker water valve or pump | $235 to $465 | Scale level and unit brand |
| Warming drawer element | $185 to $355 | Element style and drawer access |
Outdoor jobs vary with corrosion and access, so read these as typical ranges. The real price depends on the part and the diagnosis, and we quote it before work begins.
Every visit follows the same order, so you always know what comes next and what it costs.
Phone us any hour with the appliance brands in the island and what is failing. We set an arrival window.
We close the grill's shutoff, cut power at the island, and slide or lift the appliance out of its cutout.
We look for corrosion, nests, scale and moisture in connections, then test the failed part.
You get the price first, then we replace parts and leak-check any gas fitting we touched.
We light every burner or run the fridge to temperature and confirm the GFCI holds.

Larger lots in Porter Ranch, West Hills, Calabasas and Thousand Oaks often have full outdoor kitchens with a grill, side burner, fridge and ice maker set in stone. On a south-facing patio those units sit in direct sun for most of a summer afternoon. The condenser in the island can run far hotter than the air temperature.
Santa Ana winds add another layer. Fine dust and leaves pack into condenser grilles, grill vents and warming drawer tracks. We clean those during every outdoor repair and point out island vent openings that are blocked by planters or furniture.
Built-in outdoor appliances are sized to a cutout in stone, so replacing one is rarely a simple swap. A new model may not fit the same opening, and changing the cutout means masonry work. That makes most repairs worth doing.
Replacement makes sense when a grill firebox has rusted through or an outdoor refrigerator has a sealed system failure on an older unit. We tell you which models fit your existing cutout before you decide. When none fit, repairing the old unit is usually the practical choice.
Safe checks only. If anything smells hot, sparks or involves gas, stop and call.
Our Sun Valley office sends technicians across the Valley and the cities around it. These are the places we visit most for outdoor kitchen appliance repair.
After months under a cover, outdoor grill igniters often have a dead battery, corroded electrodes or a spider web in the venturi tube. Replace the battery first. If it still clicks without lighting, we clean or replace the ignition parts and clear the burner tubes.
It is not a good idea. Indoor refrigerators are not built to cool against outdoor heat or handle moisture, and they wear out fast in a patio island. Outdoor-rated units have sealed controls and larger condensers. We repair both, but we will explain the difference.
An outdoor kitchen GFCI usually trips because moisture reached a plug, a fridge component, a light or a rotisserie motor. It may only happen after rain or sprinklers. We test each appliance on that circuit to find the one leaking current.
Yes. We repair outdoor ice makers from brands such as Scotsman, True and Sub-Zero, including water valves, drain pumps, cutter grids and condenser fans. Hard Valley water scales these units quickly, so we also descale the water path during the repair.
No. For outdoor kitchen grills we repair the appliance and its connector at the existing shutoff. Underground gas lines and pipe in the island belong to SoCalGas or a plumbing contractor. If you smell gas in the yard, leave the area and call SoCalGas or 911.
A yearly service before grilling season suits most outdoor kitchens. We clean condensers, check igniters and burners, descale the ice maker and test the GFCI circuit. Homes with heavy dust or a south-facing island can benefit from a second visit in late summer.
